Description
In the dice game Nyout, 2, 3 or even 4 players can pass the time. Nyout is derived from the Korean game Yut. Its similarity to a Chinese fortune-telling game, which originated in the 3rd century BC, indicates that Yut is very old. However, archaeologists argue about its exact age. The game is still very popular in Korea today and is mainly played at New Year. The interesting thing here are the dice, which are throwing sticks in this game.

Our board games are burnt onto leather, making them durable. And the game almost packs itself for transport. All you have to do is press the game down slightly with one finger in the centre of the playing field, pull on the string and the game has already packed itself. It should stay that way for transport. All you have to do now is push the bead up to the bag that has just formed and the game is packed ready for travelling. The games can be used in this way on hikes, on bike tours, in the car or even on long flights. The games are packed so small that the pocket of a jacket is sufficient to take this pleasant form of entertainment with you.

Senet board game from Egypt on a dark brown, round playing field made of leather with the corresponding dice sticks and playing pieces in red and yellow
Senet
Senet is known as the ‘oldest board game in the world’. Senet was the most popular and most important board game in ancient Egypt and was played by all sections of the population. In addition to the transportable game boards, Senet games were also found carved in various places in tombs and temples, demonstrating their widespread use. More than 40 senet boards have been discovered, some in very good condition, with intact game figures and with throwing sticks, ankle bones or cube-like dice that served as dice. The oldest known depiction of a senet game set is part of a wall painting in Saqqara from the tomb of the pharaoh Hesy (III Dynasty ca 2686-2613 BC). Senet is therefore one of the oldest known board games. Unfortunately, the original rules of the game have not survived. It seems that the game was so widespread and well-known that even small children could have known it. It was probably only passed down orally, so the rules of the game had to be painstakingly reconstructed by archaeologists. The playing field comprises 3x10 squares and was decorated with different symbols over the course of time. We chose the symbols of Tutankhamun, probably the most famous Pharaoh, for this board.
Even Tut Anch Amun, probably the most famous ruler, took a game table with him into the afterlife.

Barbacan game on a grey round leather playing field, set up for five different colors of playing pieces for the other players
Barbacan
The name Barbacan comes from the old Spanish, which means fortress or fort. It is clear from the game that it is a siege game. According to ancient sources, it originates from the Moors. The playing field is not just an ornament, but also a carefully thought-out fortress system. The special feature of the game is that - unlike other siege games - there are no defenders. Each of the players is an attacker and endeavours to penetrate the fortress and prevent the opposing attackers from doing so at the same time. Observation, tactics and fighting skills are key in this game, which is not only characterised by its unusual visuals. A lot of strategy is also required here, as the aim is to conquer a fortress and place your own pieces so skilfully that you block your opponent(s). The number of pieces used varies depending on the number of players. The game material includes: 12 + 12 + 8 + 6 + 5 + 4 pieces.

You will receive a playing field in the colour of your choice and the corresponding game pieces in the desired colours. In addition, we will add two game pieces per colour as replacements. If several tiles have been lost, please let us know and we will send you the desired tiles. These are free of charge, you only have to pay the postage and shipping costs.
