Description

Our games are all made of leather and designed in such a way that the game almost wraps itself. The only thing you have to do is to press the game down slightly with one finger in the centre of the playing field, pull the string and the game has already packed itself. It should stay that way for transport. So all you have to do now is push the bead up to the bag that has just formed and the game is packed ready for travelling. Senet, probably the oldest known board game in the world. Even the pharaohs 5000 years ago played this game with real fervour, and even Tut Anch Amun, probably the most famous ruler, took a game table with him into the afterlife. But Amesophis III and many other pharaohs were also found playing fields in their burial sites, the pyramids. In general, however, it can be assumed that this game was popular throughout all social classes.
